After working together with a temporary joint powers board Grant County and Pope County Boards entered into a permanent joint powers agreement together.

 

On Jan. 1, 2022, entities previously known as Grant County Social Services and Pope County Human Services joined together to be one agency named Western Prairie Human Services.

 

Both offices remain fully staffed and open, and the County Commissioners of both counties became members of the Western Prairie Human Services board, the governing body in charge of making decisions for the new entity.  

 

Western Prairie Human Services follows the path of other county partnerships in this process, taking from
their successes that we can also provide person-centered care to the communities we serve while also providing an environment of growth for our staff.
